Let It Burn

StrangeFlow I'd love to get another album by goat - another great song right here, full of energy and all the characteristics goat fans love. Favorite track: Friday pt1.

muschiosauro Two totally different songs. The first one is a tremendous, fuzzed-out, hard-hitting, flute-haunted psychy hymn - akin to a tribalized version of Amon Düül II - with raw, shouted yet hypnotic female vocals. The second one is a mellow jam driven by a warm, peaceful sax. The contrast is striking and beautiful. Really looking for their next full length.

Jan Jackson ‘Let It Burn’ is a chaotic deliverance. Of course there’ll be the nod to Sabbath, and the rolling thunder of mid-period Banshees in the percussion, but these nods are made with total confidence and aplomb. Goat are well worth a listen; their catalogue is full of difference and experiment. Woohah!

Damn. Didn't have a lot of time so quickly purchased Album only to find has only two tracks! An album, really? Ho hum. Hopefully payment will generate more tracks good tracks 😕

electricdirt The percussion is truly a stampede of wild hoofed animals, the guitars are hyper-dimensional wildcats in close pursuit, the bass is a dragon flying overhead shepherding the chaos, while the vocals are a message from God carried by the power of the thundering herd. The flute and strings are the realization of the Spirit of God inherent in all Creation through the union of Mind, Body and Soul . I Love you all and we all need everybody!!! Favorite track: Let It Burn.

Is Let it Burn the greatest Goat track the band have ever made?
The band think it is the best song they have written. The label have not
stopped going on about it since they heard it. And now you can listen
to Let it Burn when it is released as a ltd edition 7” single on 25 May.
Let it Burn was written specifically for the climatic scene in the short
movie Killing Gävle, a The Guardian produced film directed by the
very talented Joe Fletcher about the famous Gävle Goat in Sweden
which every year local custodians of Gävle try to protect a giant straw
goat that is built for the town every Christmas being burnt down by
mischievous pagans.

Obviously Goat’s music was the obvious to soundtrack the film –
their back catalogue is used throughout the film but up to now it was
the only place you could hear a segment of the 6 minute+ fuzz groove
of Let it Burn but now thanks to Rocket Recordings it can be heard
in all its glory.

So what makes Let it Burn so good?
Frenetic ‘tribal ‘drums ✓
Speaker shaking ‘fuzzwah’ guitar ✓
Devils Jukebox ‘banshee’ vocal ✓
Ridiculously filthy ‘fuzz bass’ groove ✓
Stop-you-in-our-tracks ‘flute’ breakdown ✓
Climatic ‘strings’ finale ✓

Not only that, but you get a brand new b-side, and like most recent
Goat b-sides it reveals another exploratory sound to the bands
‘world music’. Friday Pt.1 is a 4 minute excerpt from an organically
evolving, cosmic-jazz, studio jam.
